We got up this morning and headed to the house in Gamboa to give our individual research projects. We all received a specific project a few days earlier, and we then compiled research from other publications as well as the trip itself into a slideshow presentation.
We all gave our presentations, and Teri also gave one on a baiting experiment between different color bait bottles that we set this trip. Steve also gave an interesting follow up lecture to his first one at the beginning of the trip. He presented a wealth of research and findings that were done using the tagged tree plots like the one we got to use for our Fisher's Alpha project on Barro Colorado Island the day before.
After the presentations were over, we ate an exciting lunch at the Miraflores Restaurant, a Panamanian buffet-style cuisine that directly overlooked the Miraflores Canal lock. We enjoyed delicious hot meat dishes and tropical fruit plates as we looked out and watched enormous freighters move in, up, down, and out of the locks with just inches to spare. Needless to say, lunch lasted a lot longer than usual.
After lunch, we drove back to the house in Gamboa to grab all of our things and then headed over back to our apartments in building #183 for a final dinner and conversation before we all went back to our rooms to pack all our clothes and souvenirs purchased on the trip. Then it was off to bed and a goodnight sleep to prepare for our early departure from Panama the next morning.
